To meet the
requirement for a specialist vehicle to carry heavy palletized
ammunition containers, such as MLRS rockets and Patriot
missiles, the US Army developed the HEMETT family of vehicles.
It's 8x8 drive also allows for resupply to take place
as far forward as possible and gives US Army transportation
units a significant off-road capability.
